Carmen's environmental work has spanned from tropical savannas to mangrove forests. With an interest in soil carbon and vegetation, Carmen has worked with RIEL, research assisting on various carbon projects. A keen interest in mangroves has lead her to work as a consultant environmental scientist with the local consultancy EcoScience NT. Mangrove ecology has been her main focus of her consulting experience. She is now also managing the task of planning the 2nd annual Australian Mangrove and Saltmarsh Network Conference, hosted by RIEL and to be held in Darwin, May 2016.
