This study looks at a number of recent wildfire events in the NT to increase our understanding of recurrent late season wildfire. The aim is to learn from these events in order to improve control measures and planning to prevent and mitigate future late season wild fire. The project involves mapping in detail the fire events and looking at the prevelant evironmental conditions and fire mitigation or control activity leading up to and during the event. This is to help determine what the risks were and what efforts that worked well, what possible opportunities were missed and what can be done better. The research draws on the experience and knowledge of those involved in fire and specifically the fires being studies.
