Monitoring water quality in Darwin Harbour

Monitoring water quality in Darwin Harbour

Every year sewage effluent is discharged into Darwin Harbour through Darwin's five sewage treatment plants. This research would highlight potential threats to environmental and public health and allow an assessment of remediation strategies and upgraded facilities. This information will also address community concerns about the bacteria and contaminants that might be consumed by eating fish caught at or near these sites.
