Quantification of blue carbon stocks and flows in Darwin Harbour

Quantification of blue carbon stocks and flows in Darwin Harbour

The aim of this project is firstly to quantify blue carbon stocks and flows in Darwin Harbour mangrove communities and secondly to facilitate CDU and NTG research involvement in an international Blue Carbon Habitat Rehabilitation Program. The project will build on previous ecological research on Darwin harbour mangroves through CDU by measuring carbon stocks and flows and establishing Darwin Harbour as a reference site as part of a large regional program supported by international donars.
